Jingle Bells (1957) - Frank Sinatra - MP3 instrumental karaoke

You may be surprised to learn that Victorian standard "Jingle Bells" was never actually intended as fodder for the Christmas music canon, but rather an innocent rhyme about sleigh races. Written by James Lord Pierpont (1822–1893) and initially titled "The One Horse Open Sleigh" in the autumn of 1857, the song was first captured in 1889 on an Edison cylinder and is widely considered to be the first Christmas record (although that recording was sadly lost and only an 1898 recording remains). Fast forward fifty years, and Frank Sinatra is jingling his way to a global festive hit with his jolly version of "Jingle Bells," which he first recorded in 1948 and featured on the album Christmas Songs By Sinatra, with arrangements by Axel Stordahl. He later followed this with another version in 1957 for the Capitol Records album A Jolly Christmas From Frank Sinatra, with that version arranged by Gordon Jenkins, with an orchestra conducted by Nelson Riddle.
