Controversy-loving Aaron Lewis makes his right-wing politics known loud and clear on "Folded Flag", which sees the Staind founder and frontman – who released his debut solo EP Town Line in 2011 – wax lyrical about patriotism and the US military. The song makes reference to the 'folded flag' given to the family of fallen Law Enforcement Officers or military servicemen when the LEO or serviceman (Sailor, Soldier, Coast Guardsmen, Marine, Airmen) is ‘Killed in Action’ or ‘On Duty’. "Two men with starch white gloves / Fold the colors till they touch / It's probably more than I deserve / But I'm proud to get this much / Sendin' all the love I ever had / Inside this folded flag", he sings. Written by Marty Morgan, Luc Nyhus, and Yasmine Van Wilt and produced by Ben Kitterman, Aaron Lewis debuted the song on Hallmark's Home & Family show on 15 April 2017 and released it as a single that year.
