On "Blackout Betty," Ashley McBryde stays loosely true to her country roots while leaving plenty of room to rock out with gnarly guitars and a particularly hair-raising guitar solo. Co-penned with Nicolette Hayford and Aaron Raitiere, "Blackout Betty" was featured on Ashley McBryde's 2023 album The Devil I Know, the follow-up to her acclaimed concept album Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, which was nominated for Best Country Album at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. For The Devil I Know, she joined forces again with Jay Joyce, having teamed with the producer on her first two albums Girl Going Nowhere (2018) and Never Will (2020). The Devil I Know shot to the top of the UK Country Albums chart as well as finishing 28th on the US Top Country Albums chart.
