"Hooked on a Feeling" is a song by B.J. Thomas. The song was his first hit, reaching #5 in 1968. There were a lot of songs with drug references in the 60s and 70s but this song uses the “hooked” and “high” metaphors for being addicted to someone's love. Blue Swede, a Swedish rock band, hit #1 with a cover of "Hooked on a Feeling" in 1974. Their version had a chant of Ooga-Chaka Ooga-Chaka.
