"I'm Tired" is a novelty song performed by actress Madeline Kahn in the 1974 Western-inspired black comedy film Blazing Saddles, directed by the legendary Mel Brooks. A humorous tribute to Marlene Dietrich's performance of Cole Porter's "I'm the Laziest Gal in Town" in the 1950 Hitchcock film Stage Fright, the cabaret-tinged song showcases Kahn's character, Lili Von Shtupp, a seductive yet world-weary saloon singer. Mel Brooks co-wrote the song with John Morris, the film's composer. Their collaboration resulted in a catchy and provocative tune that perfectly encapsulates Lili's disillusionment with her romantic encounters. This unforgettable musical number has since become a testament to Madeline Kahn's impeccable comedic timing and outstanding vocal prowess. Her awe-inspiring performance in Blazing Saddles earned the American actress an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
