Thanks to their inclusion in films, TV shows, and ads, many older songs are reaching a new audience. Sometimes, it's a well known song like Steppenwolf's 1968 hit "Born to be Wild" but other times it's an obscure song that sends people down an internet rabbit hole to find out who the artist is. “Fallin'’’ is one of the more obscure variety. Singer Connie Francis topped the charts with hits "Where the Boys Are,” ”Who’s Sorry Now” and "Stupid Cupid” in the 50s, but "Fallin'" was a flop. It was written by the team behind "Stupid Cupid"(pop singer Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield) but it just didn't connect with her audience. But when the song was featured in the 1996 film, The Craft, it finally got some love. The twangy rock & roll track is a little sexier than her usual pop hits but she sounds great on it. The song has since been used in several other films and ad campaigns for Special K cereal and Target.
The backing track for “Fallin'" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
