This stellar Nile Rodgers collaboration proves Duran Duran haven't lost any of their magic over four decades after the band's initial formation in 1978. Written by Simon John Charles Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, Roger Andrew Taylor, and Nile Rodgers—who is also listed as producer, guitarist, and co-composer— "Black Moonlight" harnesses all the stupendously funky energy of the 2020s disco-pop revival to unearth a dancefloor juggernaut. The track reunites Duran Duran creatively with Nile Rodgers following the latter's contribution to Notorious (1986) and on various other projects over the years. The second track and single from the group's Halloween-themed 2023 album—their sixteenth to date and their 10th to crack the Top five—"Black Moonlight" was accompanied by a music video from legendary Grammy-winning "Ray of Light" director Jonas Åkerlund, inspired by the spooky and supernatural.
