British heavy metal band Fastway made a splash on the metal scene with their self-titled debut album in 1983. The group was formed after the departure of Motörhead guitarist “Fast” Eddie Clarke and UFO bassist Pete Way from their respective groups, so the band had the pedigree necessary to produce a hard-hitting debut album. And though Pete Way left the group shortly before recording their self-titled debut, the album was still an impressive introduction to the group. “Say What You Will” is one of several rip-roaring rock and roll songs featured on an album stacked with classics. Like the rest of the album, “Say What You Will” was a group composition, credited to Fastway as a band. It’s a hard-driving rock and roll song with lyrics about someone taking control of a bad situation in their life. It was produced by legendary British studio engineer Eddie Kramer. The album Fastway made it to Number 31 on the US Billboard 200, and to Number 43 on the UK Albums chart.
