One of the most unlikely pairings of 2022, "Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol" is a collaboration between rapper Post Malone and indie folk group Fleet Foxes. In line with the overarching theme of Post Malone's fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache, the song finds the rapper opening up about his recurring struggles with alcoholism, swaying back and forth between embracing sobriety and giving in to addiction. "Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol" was written by Post Malone with frequent collaborator Louis Bell and Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold, who also sings multi-layered vocal harmonies at the beginning of the track. The "Hollywood's Bleeding" singer teased the song during an Instagram live, which was followed by a live performance on Saturday Night Live. Even though it wasn't released as a promotional single, "Love/Hate Letter to Alcohol" still managed to enter the charts in both the US and Canada, peaking at Number 70 and 55, respectively.
