Founded in 2014 by singers Eduin Cazares and Jairo Corrales, Tijuana's Grupo Firme emerged onto the Regional Mexican music scene in 2017 with their first studio album Pasado, Presente, Futuro. In the years that followed their debut, the Norteño-Banda group released a handful of well-received live albums and established itself as one of the most popular Mexican acts in the country through songs like "Pídeme," "El Roto," and "Juro por Dios." In 2021, their third studio album Nos Divertimos Logrando lo Imposible (2020) won a Latin Grammy for Best Banda Album as the band played for a record-breaking audience of over 280,000 people at Mexico City's Zocalo. That year, Grupo Firme also became the third Regional Mexican act to enter the US pop charts with the live single "Ya Supérame," which reached Number 95 on the Billboard Hot 100. Written by Edgar Barrera, Horacio Palencia, and Nathan Galante, "Ya Supérame" features the group's trademark instrumentation and lyrics about a man telling his former lover to get over him.
