The Texan "Country Caruso" Johnny Bush came galloping onto the honky-tonk scene in the early 1950s and cut his teeth in the Cherokee Cowboys with Willie Nelson and Darrell McCall in the 1960s. His solo career took off in the early 1970s after he signed to RCA and dropped the top ten hit "Whiskey River," which was later adopted by Willie Nelson who made it his own. Decorated with classic country sounds, single "Green Snakes on the Ceiling" slithered into town the following year, written by Elton Williams and Jimmy Peters.
