Pittsburg, Texas native Koe Wetzel penned the cathartic lesson of "Good Die Young" following the death of his friend Saul. "And I don't want to think about tomorrow / What if tomorrow never comes? / Take me to a place without the sorrow / The story's gettin' old, where the good diе young," he sings, belting out the song's anthemic chorus that pre-empts a gnarly guitar solo. "Good Die Young" is the eleventh track on Koe Wetzel's 2020 album Sellout, which reached number 88 on the US Billboard 200. He recorded the tongue-in-cheek record largely in response to criticism of his having signed to a major label (Columbia) in 2020, particularly after having forged a homegrown following as an outlaw country figurehead.
