Lynyrd Skynyrd's 1974 album Second Helping may have spawned the monstrous mega-hit known as "Sweet Home Alabama," but nestled among the LP's more understated jewels is this smoking love song depicting an intense, steamy love affair ("Ain't no need to worry / There ain't no use to cry / 'Cause I'll be coming home soon / To keep you satisfied / You know I get so lonely / That I feel I can't go on / And it feels so good inside, babe / Just to call you on the telephone"). Second Helping, which went to number 12 on Billboard album charts, was certified Gold by the RIAA in September 1974, and went Double Platinum in 1987. The LP arguably helped to put Lynyrd Skynrd on the road to mainstream success, with band members Ed King (who was replaced by guitarist Artimus Pyle following the release of Second Helping) Allen Collins and Gray Rossington joining leader Ronnie Van Zant on songwriting duties.
