"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" is a song by Meat Loaf from the iconic album Bat Out of Hell. A friend suggested to songwriter Jim Steinman that he try to write a song like Elvis Presley's "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You."Not wanting to follow the straight-ahead lyrical narrative of someone singing about wanting, needing, and loving someone, Steinman made the song about someone wanting and needing someone but not having the ability to love someone. "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" is one of Meat Loaf's biggest hits, spending 23 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Bat Out of Hell is one of the best-selling albums of all time. It was produced by Todd Rundgren, who also financed the project after learning they were having trouble getting a record deal. It ended up selling 43 million copies.
The backing track for "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
