Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox collective have been putting their unique vintage stamp on a wide canon of modern pop songs since first forming in 2011, bringing swing and jazz into the mix to reimagine contemporary classics by the likes of Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and others. Power ballad "Don't Stop Believin'" was originally conceived by US rockers Journey in 1981 as the second single from the band's seventh studio album, Escape, and was given a peppy new lease of life in 2009 when it was sung by the cast of American comedy-drama Glee Pilot, the first episode of season one. For their joyful 2020 rework of the genre-spanning hit, Postmodern Jukebox add twinkling piano and a heavy dash of swing and pizzaz to give the song a retro, strings-touched makeover, adding it to their 2020 album OK Crooner, which also features jazzy new takes on the Spice Girls' "Wannabe," The Strokes' "Last Nite," and others.
