Bluesman Tab Benoit certainly knows his way around a guitar, a 1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline electric guitar, to be exact. The Houma, Louisiana-born artist cut his teeth in a blues trio in 1987 before starting out on his own with his 1992 debut album Nice and Warm. He went on to build his reputation as a world-famous blues artist worthy of prized accolades such as the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year award and Louisiana Music Hall of Fame membership, across a cache of lauded albums. For "Bring It on Home to Me," he dives deep into soul territory to put his spin on this enduring classic immortalised by the legendary "King of Soul" himself Sam Cooke in 1962 and widely considered a pop standard. Tab Benoit recorded his swampy blues version for his 2006 album Brother to the Blues, which also featured a rendition of Hank Williams's "I Heard That Lonesome Whistle," the follow-up to his 2005 LP Voice of the Wetlands – Voice of the Wetlands Allstars.
