"The Lady Don't Mind" by Talking Heads is one of the most understated tracks on the band's seminal 1985 album Little Creatures, drawing on the horns-brightened funk sound of previous efforts—thanks to saxophonist Lenny Pickett (who later contributed to the band's eighth and final album Naked)—and serving as the album's first single. "The Lady Don't Mind"—which seems to depict a carefree and rebellious yet chaotic woman who refuses to conform—was brought to life by a memorable music video directed by Jim Jarmusch in 1986 (which emerged two years after the director's classic 1984 film Stranger Than Paradise) comprising visuals of the group performing the song while dancing. The Americana-themed Little Creatures was a commercial and critical success story for Talking Heads—still their most successful album to date—yielding huge signature tracks like opener "And She Was" and "Road to Nowhere."
