Gloria - The Doors - MP3 instrumental karaoke

The garage rock classic "Gloria" was originally written and popularized by Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, who first recorded it with his band Them in 1964. A straightforward three-chord rock song brimming with teenage lust, "Gloria" told the story of a young woman who would come over for sexual encounters. While its lyrics leave a lot to the imagination, the two-minute song usually evolved into an extended jam during the band's live performances, with Morrison often offering a graphic, first-person account of the situation. In the years that followed, "Gloria" was covered by other artists such as The Shadows of Knight (albeit with much more tame lyrics) and American psychedelic rockers The Doors, whose electrifying live version was included in the 1983 live album, Alive, She Cried. Upon its release, The Doors' version reached Number 71 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 18 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
