The Parting Glass - The High Kings - MP3 instrumental karaoke

Irish traditional folk quartet The High Kings aka Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Darren Holden, and Paul O'Brien formed in Dublin in 2008 and made themselves known that year with their debut self-titled album, which reached number two on Billboard Magazine's World Music chart and went platinum in Ireland. For the penultimate track on The High Kings, they turned their attention to traditional Scottish folk song "The Parting Glass," closing out the album with an ode to goodbyes and one for the road. "The Parting Glass" had been previously used as a celebratory New Year’s Eve song in both Ireland and Scotland before "Auld Lang Syne" came along and stole the limelight. Other standout versions of "The Parting Glass" have been released over the years, from The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem to The Dubliners and The Pogues and Loreena McKennitt, The Wailin' Jennys, Hozier, Sarah Greene, and Cara Dillon.
