Written by Bob Crewe and former The Four Seasons bandmate Bob Gaudio, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is, without a doubt, one of the biggest hits in Frankie Valli's career. Upon its release, the track earned Frankie Valli a gold record and reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. With time, the track went on to be featured on several film and TV soundtracks and was extensively covered by other established artists. One of those artists was the American female singing group The Supremes, who included it in the tracklist of their 1969 album Together, featuring the vocal group The Temptations. The album was the group's second and final duets album with The Temptations and mainly consisted of cover versions. Largely faithful to the original version, Diana Ross & The Supreme's rendition of "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" features vocals by Eddie Kendricks and Mary Wilson, who would then replace Diana Ross after her departure from the group in 1970.
