"Louisiana Rain" is the rousing ballad that closes out Tomy Petty & The Heartbreakers' triple platinum-selling 1979 opus Damn the Torpedoes. The country-oriented song is a mellow departure from the rest of the heartland rocker-packed album and bolstered by lustrous slide guitar from Mike Campbell, who imbues the bucolic lyrics with a country twang that's compounded by harmonica from Tom Petty.
