Long before he became one of the most celebrated artists in the American country music scene, Kentucky native Tyler Childers was just an aspiring singer-songwriter trying to get his foot in the door of the music industry. After dropping out of college, he began performing live at local bars and venues in Lexington, Kentucky. His independently-released studio debut, Bottles & Bibles, was released in 2011 when Tyler Childers was 19 years old. Despite not having received much attention upon its release, the album helped him get his music out there and slowly grow a fanbase of his own. It also featured early classics like "Coal" and "Junction City Queen," two songs that would later become staples of his live repertoire. The latter referred to Junction City, a small city in Kentucky with a population of about 2,000 people. Heavily influenced by Americana and folk music, "Junction City Queen" describes a casual yet meaningful encounter between the narrator and a woman from a different town.
