If you're having a hard time picking one, we advise starting with a song that is easy to adapt. Here are some tips to help find the perfect song and customize it in a cinch!

Songs that everyone knows
Unless you're singing one-on-one to that special someone, choosing a song that everyone knows may help get the crowd going.
It's best to avoid selecting a karaoke from that underground Latvian schlager-punk group and opt for one that everyone can join in on... something like "Let it Go" or a timeless classic like "Let it Be."
Group songs
The benefit of a customized group song is that it does just that, it lends itself to being sung all together and will have that much more effect on the recipient. Our choices for karaoke group songs.... “We Will Rock You,” "Hey Ya!," or “Highway to Hell”, they're guaranteed crowd-pleasers and a sure-fire way to get everyone involved.
Dance songs with well-known choreography
Since you are already singing together with a customized karaoke, might go a step further with song AND dance. Songs with a dedicated choreography are a great way to distract from any insecurities in your vocals while adding extra pep in your step. Dazzle your guests and invite them to join you on the dance floor. "Y.M.C.A.," "Saturday Night Fever" and "Gangnam Style" are strong candidates for this song and dance category.
Songs that are conducive to confidence
If you're opting for a moment of pure emotion for the lucky recipient of your customized karaoke, most likely you'll choose a track with a tender tone, something like "Just the Way You Are" or "I Will Always Love You." Word to the wise, stay away from any awkward moments and doubt-raising tunes that may conjure up insecurities (i.e. like "Don't Leave Me This Way."
Call-me-by-my-name songs
It may lack a bit of originality, especially if the person concerned has suffered from negative notoriety due to his/her first name, butsongs containing a first name are an easy starting point if you're struggling to begin your customized karaoke. Options abound in this category: “Sweet Caroline,” “Come On Eileen,” or “Luka”… Of course, the condition is that the person to whom you sing the customized karaoke has the same first name. You did get that, right?
Songs about the passage of time
Be careful not to get too taken away by the past, but on the occasion of a birthday a quick trip down memory lane with a custom song message may give rise to a very moving celebration: "Photograph," "When We Were Young" or "Summer of '69" are all great contenders.
Songs describing the relationship you have with the person
A good way to assure successful song choice is to find the link between you and the person you're customizing the karaoke for. If it is your child or your father, "Father and Son" has the advantage of dealing with this special relationship. If your gift is for a friend, the Disney classic "You’ve Got a Friend in Me" is an ideal example.
A descriptive song (after customization)
Putting a person in the spotlight requires painting a portrait of characteristics, quirks, humor, personality, faults and qualities; anything and everything that makes the person! We'd opt avoiding inside jokes that may alienate the crowd and advise to focus instead on funny traits that everyone knows. Some songs lend themselves easily to customizable and flavorful lyrics to showcase one's personality, such as "Born This Way" or "The Way I Am".
