"Castle on the Hill" is a song by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. It was released as the lead single from his third studio album ÷ (2017) alongside the poppier "Shape of You." Written in tandem with producer Benny Blanco, the track is a nostalgic ode to his hometown of Framlingham and recounts his upbringing there, from his childhood days to young adulthood. According to the author, the urgent, delay-laden wall of guitars that kicks off the song was inspired by the sound of indie rock group Snow Patrol, a band Ed Sheeran had previously toured with. Shortly after its commercial release, "Castle on the Hill" reached Number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart. It also topped the charts in countries like Iceland, Israel, and Scotland. The "castle on the hill" mentioned in the lyrics is a direct reference to Framlingham Castle in Suffolk, which was also featured in the song's accompanying video.

Great track, Both guitar electric guitars are on the same track, which is pointless so you lose one either way, silly idea really & no good to a guitarist who wants to play one part live.. other that that its good.
