"Come On" (also known as "Let the Good Times Roll") is a song originally written by early rhythm and blues artist Earl King. The song was first recorded by the New Orleans musician in 1960 with the title "Darling Honey Angel Child" and was later renamed "Come On" after King changed the lyrics. Based off of Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five's 1946 jump blues "Let the Good Times Roll," the song didn't enter the R&B charts in the US but it did gain prominence after American guitar virtuoso Jimi Hendrix included it in his seminal 1968 third album Electric Ladyland. Aided by bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell, Hendrix stayed faithful to King's version in terms of arrangements but increased the tempo to match the album's psychedelic rock feel. Hendrix's version prompted King to re-record the track as "Come (Let the Good Times Roll)" in 1977 and it was later covered by Dr. John, Freddie King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
