Famously the song in Radiohead's back catalogue that the band detested playing live, "Creep" is also famously one of their best-loved songs; the breakthrough track that catapulted their career onto the main stage. Released in September 1992, "Creep" offered the first glimpse of Radiohead's 1993 debut album Pablo Honey. The song was allegedly based on a real-life "angel," the object of songwriter Thom Yorke's affection, who here plays the titular "Creep" and "weirdo" full of self-loathing. With the guitars and drums taken out of the equation, Thom Yorke's A+ falsetto singing can be heard in its full glory on the track's acoustic recreation, taken from a live performance on KROQ-FM on 13 July 1993 and included on the band's 1994 EP My Iron Lung. In 2021, "Creep" was turned into a warped nine-minute remix by electronic wizard Thom Yorke and in 2023, the acoustic version of Radiohead's "Creep" was featured in the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
