Conceived as a parody of the Slim Thug song of the same name, the track made its first appearance on April 4, 2009, as a Saturday Night Live digital short featuring Seth Rogen. Written by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone, and produced by Rick tha Rular, "Like a Boss" follows the daily routine of a middle manager and his increasingly weird antics in the office. After its official premiere, the song became incredibly popular on several social media platforms and its video rapidly accumulated streams by the millions.
