"But I know this much, she's like a mother to me / And I love her with all my heart / And let me tell you this sir, everything I am / Or ever hope to be, I owe to her," declares Bobby Bare of his home country on this flag-waving anthem "God Bless America Again." Written by Bobby Bare and Boyce Hawkins—a television personality, weatherman, and pianist—the Christian-themed hymn hears the former ask for God's forgiveness of the United States. "God Bless America Again" was first released as a single in 1969 when it reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and was later reworked into duet form by Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn as the B-side to their hit "The Letter." Loretta Lynn also named her twentieth solo album after the song in 1972. In 2014, Loretta Lynn and Bobby Bare performed the song during the fourth annual Johnny Cash Music Festival at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.
