Californian dynamo Elle King burst onto the scene with her Americana-meets-pop debut EP The Elle King EP in 2012 before racing to the top with her breakout hit “Ex’s & Oh’s" in 2015, picking up two Grammy nominations for her trouble. She reached for a mix of R&B and gospel on her debut album Love Stuff, also released that year, before diving deeper into rock 'n' roll with the 2018 follow-up Shake the Spirit. For her third album, Come Get Your Wife, Elle King slipped on her finest cowboy boots and showed her aptitude for country music, penning 13 country-minded numbers that included a party-starting duet with Miranda Lambert called "Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)" and "Lucky," a happy and loving tribute to her son of the same name. On the song, she sings about fate and joy, and shows gratitude for her life. "Ain't that somethin' for someone just like me / Who don't deserve a damn thing?" she sings, incredulous.
