Frank Sinatra jumped on the festive music bandwagon in 1950 to release this bouncy big band version of "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" Despite having been written by lyricist Sammy Cahn and composer Jule Styne on a boiling hot day in Los Angeles in 1945, the song offers an imagination-stirring, snow-topped snapshot of a typically wintery scene: "Oh, the weather outside is frightful / But the fire is so delightful / And since we've no place to go / Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! / It doesn't show signs of stopping / And I brought some corn for popping / The lights are turned down low / Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow," it begins. Frank Sinatra teamed with The B. Swanson Quartet, famed for sprinkling a little orchestral magic over the Christmas canon, for this time-honored interpretation of a song that has been a magnet for covers, with everyone from Boyz II Men and Patsy Cline to Jessica Simpson offering their take over the years.
