This narrative of the angry ex continues to gather pace throughout "Burn It Down," which was written with Lori McKenna, Liz Rose and Hillary Lindsey (aka songwriting collective The Love Junkies), and included as the fourth track on Parker McCollum's 2023 album Never Enough. "Burn It Down" served as the album's second single following the top five charting "Handle on You." Never Enough—Parker McCollum's second major label studio offering— was produced by Jon Randall and written with writers such as Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Ashley Gorley and Brett James. Never Enough was the follow-up to Parker McCollum's first major label debut Gold Chain Cowboy, which came out in 2021.
