"I Wanna Know Your Name" is a song recorded by the Philadelphia soul band The Intruders and released in 1973. It was written by the famous songwriting and production duo Gamble & Huff, known for their work with artists such as The O'Jays and Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes. The song was produced by Gamble and Huff and recorded at their Philadelphia International Records studios. It was released as a promotional single for The Intruders' fourth studio album Save the Children (1973). The song peaked at Number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Number 9 on the US R&B chart, becoming one of The Intruders' best-known songs. It has since been covered by several other artists and has become a classic of the Philadelphia soul genre.
