"You’re a Big Girl Now" is a song by the American soul group The Stylistics. The song is a sweet soul ballad about seeing one’s daughter grow into an adult and head off into the world to have their own experiences and loves, fully out of the protection of the parent. "You’re a Big Girl Now" was the group's debut single, and quickly became a hit. It charted at Number 7 on the US Billboard R&B chart, as well as Number 73 on the Hot 100. The song was written by Marty Bryant and Robert Douglas and produced by Thom Bell. "You're a Big Girl Now" was also included as part of The Stylistics’s self-titled debut album, which came out in November 1971. By the time the album was released, the group's lineup had changed considerably; for this reason, members Airrion Love, Herb Murrell, James Dunn, and James Smith can be heard singing on "You’re a Big Girl Now," even though they were absent from the rest of the album (aside from Love contributing vocals on "You Are Everything").
