Tom Ball is a British singer and former high school teacher who catapulted into fame with his appearance on the reality competition show Britain's Got Talent. This is thanks to his powerful performance of the classic Simon and Garfunkel song "The Sound of Silence." Tom Ball's version of the song takes the original's hushed acoustic guitar-based sound and transposes it to the piano, turning it into a power ballad that builds in intensity over the course of its runtime and showcases Tom Ball's dark, powerful vocals and impressive range.
