Armed with a stony voice and gritty tales aplenty, Pennsylvania-born troubadour Warren Zeiders has been lighting up the country scene since 2021 when his "Ride the Lightning (717 Tapes)" single went viral. Released that same year as part of his Acoustic Covers album, on "Colt 45" Warren Zeiders tips his cowboy hat to one of his musical heroes, Afroman; the Grammy-nominated rapper and 2024 presidential candidate known best for his 2000 joint "Because I Got High." "Colt 45" is the alternative title of Afroman's 2001 single "Crazy Rap" the marijuana-loving chorus of which Warren Zeiders gave an outlaw country makeover for this 2021 refit. The success of Warren Zeiders's aforementioned "Ride the Lightning (717 Tapes)," which was certified gold in the US in January 2022, paved the way for his debut studio album, the 14-track Pretty Little Poison, which was released in 2023 via Warner and produced by Bart Butler, Ryan Gore, and Ross Copperman.
