Born Arthur Blanckaert in Veurne, Belgium, Will Tura is an award-winning tour de force of Flemish-speaking music; a highly decorated singer, multi-instrumentalist (he can count the piano, guitar, drums, accordion and harmonica among his talents), and songwriter. He earned his nickname the "Emperor of the Flemish Song" on the strength of a prolific catalogue of chart-dominating hits that spans decades and covers everything from pop-rock and soul to country and, of course, his beloved schlager. Will Tura logged his first hit in 1963 with "Eenzaam zonder jou" ("Lonely without you") and kept the albums coming regularly throughout the 1960s. Jaunty schlager crowd-pleaser "Het kan niet zijn" was written with Nelly Byl Antoinette, released as a single in 1969, and included on Will Tura's Will Tura nr 07 album that same year, which was sandwiched in between 1969's Will Tura's eerste hits and 1970's Will Tura nr 08 – Linda.
