"I Want It Now / Oompa-Loompa" is a medley included in the original soundtrack of the 1971 American musical fantasy film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Like the rest of the songs featured in the film, the two tracks were written by the British composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, and directed by Walter Scharf. Sung by actress Julie Dawn Cole as the greedy Veruca Salt, a spoilt child who believes she should be able to have everything she wants, whenever she wants it, "I Want It Now" perfectly conveys her sense of entitlement and her constant desire for immediate gratification. After Veruca Salt is eliminated at the end of her musical number, the song transitions into one of the many reprises of the "Oompa-Loompa" song, in which the characters known as Oompa Loompas repeat the same musical pattern with different lyrics, offering a moral to the story following each child's disappearance.
