Thanks to the popularity of "Down Home Blues" and "Cheating in the Next Room," Down Home reached Number 209 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on the soul albums chart for almost two years. The modern-day blues anthem would later be covered by labelmate Denise LaSalle.
